Is the Best Before Date for fresh or frozen Veggie Pods?

Frozen.  Unopened packages of frozen fruit and frozen vegetables are good for 8 to 10 months beyond their packaged print date if kept in the freezer.   GreenSky prints 8 months for Best Before Date.

How long can I leave a Veggie Pod in the fridge?

Chlorophyll (the green pigment found in leafy greens) can actually keep your Veggie Pod alive longer, up to 48 hours.  Also, the lemon, ginger and mint have preservative properties which will support the freshness.  However, GreenSky only recommends keeping your unopened Veggie Pod in the fridge for up to 24 hours to ensure maximum freshness, nutrition and taste.

Will linseeds (flaxseeds) compromise my hormones

review of available human research, published in the May 2014 issue of "Integrative Cancer Therapies," concluded that flaxseed consumption either had no impact, or caused a decrease in blood levels of oestrogen.

by Paula Martinac livingstrong.com

Flaxseed is commonly used to improve digestive health or relieve constipation. Flaxseed may also help lower total blood cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels, which may help reduce the risk of heart disease.

What does a Veggie Pod taste like?

"You can taste the goodness".  Julia Laaman

It's a litmus test to your health.

That means if it is really bitter then we have some work to do on your gut health. The good news that after 3 days, you will seriously feel the difference.

If it tastes quite neutral, then you are most probably have a balanced diet.

So it really depends on what spinach, kale , mint, lemon and cucumbers etc usually taste like to you.

I personally found it bitter at first because I was not very healthy when I began my journey, so I had to reclaim my palette so to speak.  Now I find Veggie Pods refreshing and subtly sweet.  Enjoy, Sky x

Why is it blended not juiced?

The medicinal properties in whole foods are enormous.  Blending fruits and vegetables retains fibre and nutrients that juicing excludes.  Between cold-pressed juicing and blending, blending seems to be the healthiest plan of action if you want to drink your plant-based foods.  GreenSky blends everything: the seeds, pulp, pith, skin and stems… even some of the lemon rind.

How do I get the beautiful boxes back to you for recycling?

If your box is in excellent condition, let's not waste it. Leave by the front door before your next delivery, and we will take them off your hands.

Why are the Veggie Pods packaged in plastic?

Food safety and quality is our priority.   Sustainability opportunities are being developed with the possibility to up-cycle the pod cups for clothing manufacturing.

GreenSky has chosen to work with Bonson from New Zealand who provide only sustainable and environmentally friendly range of recyclable and biodegradable products.  Every single one of their products is a testament to how they consider sustainability an integral part of their operation, whilst upholding the highest standards of product quality and food safety.

Can I recycle the pod cups?

Yes, please do, both pod cups and pod box. Recycle in your approved council recycling bin.

Sustainability is very important to GreenSky.

There maybe a local option of up-cycling for clothing manufacturing.  We are in conversations with two commercial recycling companies who are looking at taking your cups and converting them into useful material.

Research is being carried out in manufacturing a freezer grade biodegradable pod membrane.

In the meantime, try using the empty cups as mini-seedling starters for Herb Gardens.

They're also handy as paint cups for school, nurseries and master painters.

NOTE The plastic pod cups are made from Recycle Code 5 using Polypropylene.

We are LOVING our pods from GreenSky! We have them with some coconut water and fresh squeezed OJ and it’s delicious. And we feel so great knowing we’ve had our leafy greens every day. I feel so good and it’s like a meal at breakfast. I’ve noticed I feel less sluggish when I’ve had one each day. My husband thinks they’re fabulous and keeps stealing mine so I’ve had to order double! Thanks so much Sky ❤️

I combine my delicious green pods with organic coconut water, organic berries & vegan protein powder. Love the taste and despite eating more than 2 serves of veg a day, it’s probably the green that is a little neglected. Not now! I also make ice blocks for my granddaughter. These are a hit!
